Ok, I know I am not mature, but I personally found this link making fun of unintentionally inappropriate kids toys completely hilarious. Don't click on it if you are a giant prude.
Are you a giant prude?
To assess, ask yourself the following question: Did you find OMDG's post a few months back when Dylan first started to crawl in which she described herself snickering as Dylan showed particular affinity to the blue ball in the pounding tower offensive or infantile? If yes, then you probably are a prude, and you probably shouldn't click on the link.
Our au pair is here and so far she is great. I do think sometimes she laughs at out jokes even though she may not have any idea what we're talking about though.... oh well. I suppose I'd do the same thing. It's probably polite I guess.
It does feel weird to ask her to help clean up after Dyls... Luca and I aren't used to it I guess. I keep having to remind myself that it's GOOD that she offers, that we NEEDED the help, and this is why we hired her. She is great so far about taking initiative. Dyls seems to be warming up to her too. Fingers crossed that things will continue to go well, and that she won't decide she hates us!
I keep waking up in the middle of the night freaking out about how much work I have to do, and how I'll probably get a revise and resubmit right in the middle of my NICU month or something. I should stop worrying about it though, because a) it will happen if I worry about it or not, and b) I can't avoid it (unless I stop submitting manuscripts). Not that it's so easy to stop though!
Anyway, back to work. I WILL have this R&R done by tomorrow night dammit!
You know, when Mama took us back to India to visit, it had been some time since she had had servants and hired help. She said it was so weird asking them to help out with us or do anything. Even now, I'm just not used to it at all.
ReplyDeleteGlad the au pair is settling in well!
Glad to hear that things are going well with the au-pair.
ReplyDeleteYes, so glad to hear that the au pair is working out so far...
ReplyDeleteand yes, I thought that link was funny (I am FAR from a prude, especially when it comes to my sense of humor).
I never had you pegged as a prude at ALL. :-) I laughed so hard I cried when I saw the Tarzan toy in action.
