Update

  • Our au pair arrives at our house today!
  • My revise and resubmit is about 1/3 done.  Hopefully by the end of today it will be 2/3 done.
  • Dylan likes black olives
  • She also likes macaroni & cheese, but she likes olives more
  • Dylan has started (not sure if this is temporary or what) sleeping 12 hours per night -- from 7:30PM-7:30AM.  I am hoping she decides to do this on Saturday also!  Luca is sad because it means he doesn't get to see her in the AM.  On the other hand, maybe he will feel less guilty about going to do swim workouts in the morning if he knows he won't see her anyway.

This was my to do list from last week:
  1. Get car serviced
  2. Order sheets, curtains, finish prepping room
  3. Finish slide deck for dissertation defense
  4. Finish writing draft of dissertation to send to committee members
  5. Do dissertation revisions as per the suggestions of my committee after my defense
  6. Finish Aim 3 manuscript and submit it
  7. Complete revise and resubmit for Aim 2 manuscript
  8. Read materials for Well Newborn rotation
  9. Continue reading peds text so I remember something before I start that rotation
  10. Complete application for travel award to meeting in June
  11. Register for meetings in May and in June
  12. Taxes (I actually see this as a welcome break from all the other stuff I have to do)
I was getting all excited at crossing stuff off, and then... there was nothing to cross off after item #4.  :-(

Admittedly, some of this stuff *can't* be completed right now, but just has to be done before I go back to clinics in March.

Today I will work on #7, #9 (cardiology -- woo!), #11, #12.  I really should practice my talk for my defense too, but I just haven't had time yet this week to do it.  Boo.

  1. fingers crossed about the au pair experience!

B & L both loved black olives...until they didn't. But D sounds like an excellent eater, overall, I'm sure she will continue to expand her palette & be an adventurous eater :)

also jealous jealous jealous about the sleep. but happy for you guys...I know how busy you both are, and I'm glad you have the rest to keep up the pace.

    1. Don't be jealous about the sleep. You know that if we have a second child there is no way we're getting this lucky again.

    2. Another reason not to be jealous: IF we have a second, it will be when I am a resident. Therefore if he/she isn't a good sleeper, we're doubly f*cked. Be happy you're done with that stage of your training and let me enjoy the rest while I still can! Ha.
